Winter 2008 Wine Club Selection
The Winter Wine Club selection is ready. Club members who have their wine shipped should have already received their selection. The Winter Selection for our Wine Club is one bottle each of our 2006 Amador County Zinfandel, 2006 Amador County Deaver Signature Petite Sirah and 2006 Lani's Vineyard Syrah.

2006 Amador County Zinfandel – Our classic Amador County Zinfandel returns to our line after a two-year absence. This Zin has long been a customer favorite at table, particularly with light flavorful fare such as BBQ chicken or grilled Ahi seasoned with just a bit of lemon juice, olive oil and capers. The grapes for this wine were harvested right here on the historic Deaver ranch. We’re sure you’ll want to reserve more of this Zin before the holidays.

2006 Amador County Signature Petite Sirah – This noble grape was originally called Durif when it was discovered in 1880 in a small vineyard in the south of France. It still is called by that name in other parts of the world. We call it Petite Sirah. Enjoy this dark, spicy wine with a slowly cooked winter stew flavored with your favorite of lamb, pork or beef. Whether on the table with a hearty meal or as a satisfying end to a long winter’s day, it can hardly be matched. Once you try it, you’ll begin to understand why Francois Durif, a university botanist, chose to give the grape his own name when he discovered it.

2006 Lani’s Vineyard Syrah – The grapes for our Lani’s Vineyard Syrah are carefully selected from one of the Shenandoah Valley’s premier ranches. Year after year wine from Lani’s Vineyard has won significant medals in competition. Our smoky, earthy Syrah pairs beautifully with foods coming off your grill. You cannot mismatch a wine like this one with grilled meats. The smokiness the grill wraps ‘round the food and the smokiness of the wine are entirely too great to miss.
