For years, the Deaver Family has hosted a Tri-Tip Bar-B-Que on the winery grounds over Labor Day weekend. One of the secrets that keeps our guests returning year after year is the special sauce created from our very own Deaver Signature Zinfandel. Whether your passion is succulent Tri-tip or ribs or chicken, you simply cannot go wrong with this sauce. Just accept the compliments and don't tell your family and friends about our secret. |

Ingredients: Method: In a medium sauce pan melt butter and saute onions and garlic until soft. Add remaining ingredients. Stir occasionally and simmer for about 20 minutes or until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat, and allow to cool before using. Makes 2 cups of sauce. Slather this yummy sauce on beef, chicken, or pork during the last few minutes on the grill. As you are hanging out around the BBQ, don't forget to have a sip or two of our Signature Zinfandel for yourself. Tested and contributed by Kristi Santens
2 tbsp butter
1 cup Deaver Vineyards Signature Zinfandel
1 cup ketchup
2 tbsp vinegar
2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp fresh ground pepper
1/4 cup onion, grated or finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, grated
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp dry mustard powder
